They are revealed for the first time in The Recklinghausen exhibition, built like a labyrinth of new audio-visual assemblages.
It exposes a new phase and a significant new layer in her work, inspired by her recent encounter with researchers at the Institute for Life Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the bats laboratory at the Weizmann institute. The new artworks integrate her long engagement with the concept of the Mental Maps and the environmental image and the new researches on cells’ processing sensory input in the brain and issues of spatial cognition, navigation, spatial memory, and social memory.
It offered Yassour additional perspectives for exploring the spatial and the temporal and in her Recklinghausen exhibition she embedded spatiality with a significant emphasis on the perception of time.
